Meet Dr. Metwally

ORAL SURGEON

Dr. Metwally ORAL SURGEON at Oakland Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center

My path to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery started here in Metro Detroit where I spent my formative years growing up as one of 5 children. My father, an internist, instilled in me a love for patient care and “walked the walk” showing me that patient care is a calling, not a job.

I am a proud graduate of the University of Michigan for all my post high school education: undergraduate, dental school, medical school, and residency.

While in residency, I was a Chief Resident of the program and had robust training at the University of Michigan in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, trauma, cleft lip and palate repair, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), and benign and malignant pathology of the head and neck. I’m thrilled to be able to use these skills to serve the area that’s given me so much.

I’m so fortunate to be an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. I have a strong interest in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, benign pathology, and especially TMJ surgery including arthroscopy.

Currently, I am on staff at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak and DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital.

When not working, I love nothing more than spending time with my wife, a pediatric dentist, and our son who keeps us plenty busy! I love watching soccer, going for walks, reading, and cooking. My treatment philosophy is simple: if it’s not right for my family then it’s not the right option for you. I look forward to seeing you in the office soon!
