A natural tooth consists of a root and a crown. If you compare natural teeth to implant supported replacement teeth, you'll see they have the same basic parts. Both have a crown (the visible part used to chew food) and both have a "root" that holds the tooth securely under the gum and is anchored into the jaw.
The difference is that the implant is made of titanium - the same time tested material used by surgeons for artificial joints.

Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that most people will develop during their mid to late teenage years or early twenties. Since this time is traditionally associated with the onset of maturity and becoming wiser, we refer to third molars as wisdom teeth.
Some people may have wisdom teeth that erupt into proper alignment behind the second molars. However, in many cases, the mouth is too crowded for the third molars to develop normally. When inadequate space prevents the teeth from erupting, they are called impacted and will most often require removal.

I had such a great experience. I came to get an extraction and the doctor literally pulled my tooth in a second. Before I realized it was out, he was already stitching me up. I was out in 10 minutes. Even my mother, who happens to be a retired dental hydentist was impressesed LOL. The office was CLEAN and cozy with a nice ambiance. The staff went over after care and safety precautions, what to expect, etc. They were pretty cool. My vitals remained stable throughout my procedure. The staff kept asking was I okay. Front desk staff were friendly. I dont anticipate getting another extraction anytime soon or ever again in life but if I do......I would highly recommend this place. 10/10 I would do it again... But only if I have to.

This is the 2nd time I’ve been at The Oakland Oral Surgery & Implant Center, (Sterling Hgts. office).Both times I received incredible, impeccable, precision service. The 1st time was 2 extractions of my upper wisdom teeth. The 2nd time was an extraction of a loose crown. this last time I did not need a driver. Dr.Coke simply numbed my mouth. Anyone can tell you that, that is the most painful part of any procedure. Along to a lesser degree, after the numbness subsides.But what I’ve noticed on having work done at other places, is some post pain that occurs (I believe) is that some doctors simply manhandle your mouth during the procedure.Stretching of your cheek, clanking tools inside your mouth, slips, excessive pulling, disregarding the befores and afters , etc. Even though you don’t feel it at the time, you definitely feel it later on after the procedure, I’m happy to say that other than the necessary, grinding, pulling, etc. to get the job done correctly, there has never been any pain and irritation from simple carelessness, or lack of empathy and consideration of the patient. Wether the patient was numbed up or under anesthesia. It’s safe to say you will never feel like you’ve gone 3 rounds in a championship UFC fight. I even received a follow up call personally from Dr.Coke as to how I was doing. He was the consulting doctor on both of my procedures and the most recent Doctor Who performed my last procedure. The first one was also excellent. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name, please check my records if possible, and include his name at the bottom of this review. The staff was also excellent in every regard, including of course, Rebecca, who handles the financial and logistics of coverage and payment. I offer my sincere gratitude and respect for Dr. Coke and his entire staff. Thank you and God bless you all.
