A natural tooth consists of a root and a crown. If you compare natural teeth to implant supported replacement teeth, you'll see they have the same basic parts. Both have a crown (the visible part used to chew food) and both have a "root" that holds the tooth securely under the gum and is anchored into the jaw.

Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that most people will develop during their mid to late teenage years or early twenties. Since this time is traditionally associated with the onset of maturity and becoming wiser, we refer to third molars as wisdom teeth.
Some people may have wisdom teeth that erupt into proper alignment behind the second molars. However, in many cases, the mouth is too crowded for the third molars to develop normally. When inadequate space prevents the teeth from erupting, they are called impacted and will most often require removal.

As soon as I visited the sterling heights office I was greeted right away. I was a little early for my appt but they took me back anyways for an early start. Everyone was amazingly kind, from the check in gals, to the dentist assistant, to the doctor herself and the check out lady. Honestly great experience, they were able to get me in the next day for an appt where lots of other practices were months out. 10/10 highly recommended

The staff are so kind. If you have extreme dental anxiety, this is the place for you. If you have had bad experiences with dental professionals being cold and uncaring, check this place out. They take their time, ensure you’re comfortable, and check in through every part of the procedure. I had to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed in my 30s and it was less than a 30 minute procedure - from numbing to stitching, with the doctor and assistants constantly checking in to ensure my comfort.They offer many options for comfort like laughing gas, local anesthetic, and general anesthesia. I truly appreciate the care they took! Couldn’t recommend them more!
