Meet Dr. Moores
Oral Surgeon
Education & Early Interest in Oral Surgery
I am originally from the metro Detroit area and graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 1983. From there, I began my undergraduate studies at the University of Detroit. After 3 years, I applied to and was accepted at the University of Detroit Dental School. During my time there, I took an interest in oral surgery and received awards from the Oral Surgery, Orthodontic and Periodontic departments.
Advanced Training & Residency
After my graduation in 1990, I decided to continue my Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Loyola University Foster McGaw Hospital in Maywood, Illinois. During this four-year residency, I received training in Anesthesia, Facial Trauma, Pathology, orthognathic and Reconstructive Surgery, Implants, and dentoalveolar.
Professional Practice & Philosophy
After its completion in 1994, I decided to return to my Michigan roots and begin private practice with Oakland Oral Surgery. At Oakland Oral Surgery, I have been fortunate to work with a group of like minded partners for many years. We believe in treating every patient as if they were family. While no one looks forward to having a surgical procedure performed, it is my goal to make it painless and stress free in a comfortable, professional environment.
Certifications & Professional Involvement
I became board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 1996 and have since been re-certified in 2004 and 2014 to maintain my Diplomate status. I am a Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and belong to numerous professional organizations including Omicron Kappa Upsilon. I have served as President of the Western Branch of the Detroit District Dental Society and taken part in writing the Michigan State Specialty Board exam.
Currently, I am on staff at Huron Valley and St. John Macomb hospitals.
Life Outside the Practice
In my free time, sports and the outdoors have always been a big part of my life. I enjoy working out and have coached youth football and baseball for over 12 years. I have been happily married to my wife Teresa since 1992 and we have 3 wonderful children together.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and take part in your dental care.
